It's been quite awhile since we've had a news update but that was my fault. When you lose the main admin password it makes it quite difficult to make changes. I was able to fix the problem and make the updates to the welcome message for the new severs (the others were scrapped due to poor service via GameServers).
We now have a new game server provider by the name of Go-Networks and they are spectacular! Automatic updates applied, actual reasons and news on server conditions / problems. Live support, good prices and fantastic options. They even have random raffle give aways just for being a customer. I highly suggest the company for anyone who needs a server. They also have website and I believe full server services as well.
Moving on to the business at hand. Our new servers are now listed in the Welcome Message (under the banner) so you can get the IP address for the servers from there. If you are a bT member you can obtain our Left 4 Dead 2 server key via our Left 4 Dead 2 Server post. This will allow you to search for our server and see if it is available before checking public servers. Our server is "vanilla" so there is no need to worry about stupid mods that bog down the resources.
It is the season for giving so please help us keep our servers online by donating today! The link to donate is to the left. Remember that even $5 a month can help keep us going forever.
After alot of problems regarding GameServer's Ventrilo service, we have switched over to NationVoice. We have used them before and had a very good experience, hopefully we can repeat that with everyone.
The new information is:
IP: 69.59.28.33 Port: 3871 Pass: bluegold
Your password from the NY NationVoice server is the same. If you have not have your password changed, please have it changed ASAP.
I'm trying to make the site useful, and have added an "Upload" link directly under the banner. It's not 100% and you still have to get approved from an admin, but hopefully it will be perfect soon. I've been sitting on an update for e107 for quite some time and will hopefully remember to back-up the server before I update. This way if anything gets lost I will have it all on hand. The update my fix the problem with uploads requiring admins to approve the.
While the site is being backed up it may effect speeds of the site, forums and fast-download. When I am ready to update the site it will of course be down for maintenance but the forums should be unaffected.
I updated the bT application to better help and send info. It will make it a little easier for those filling it out, has a fix for one of the options and will send the data to the admins better.
Updates:
+ Added a right column for tips on what we want in that space (Steam ID help needs to be done) ~ "How long have you been gaming" now goes: "1-5, 6-10,11-15, 15+" (used to be 1-3, 3-5, 5+) - Removed "Have you read our guidelines" since we do not currently have them.
~ Fixed data being sent with a space before each line. + Added an invisible line to distinguish which version is currently online.
With help from Wigs, we were able to modify the forums and now have pruning of the forums available. It is working properly and will prune the forums once daily and delete posts that have not been touched in 90-days. We will discuss at the meeting at what interval we would like posts to be pruned, so another thing will be added to the list!
